Padlocks for storage units and facilities
Not every door takes a disc padlock. This family covers the padlock types a self-storage site needs outside the standard unit door — and how to tell which one belongs where.
Choose your configuration
Padlock orders vary more than the other families, so start at the door: attachment type, body size, material and keying.
- Type
- Disc · laminated steel · shrouded / hidden shackle
Match the type to the attack the door actually faces. - Security level
- Standard · shrouded · high security
Confirmation of any performance claim requires a sample or test record for that model. - Key system
- Keyed alike · keyed different · master key
Keyed options apply to keyed models only. - Access
- Keyed · resettable combination
Combination avoids issuing and replacing keys. - Branding
- Laser logo · serial numbers · custom packaging

Shackle clearances and body sizes are not published as a catalogue. Tell us what the lock has to pass through and we confirm the size that fits.
Fit and compatibility
- Disc padlocks suit unit doors with a hasp or padlock eye and protect the shackle inside a hardened body, which is harder to cut than an exposed shackle.
- Laminated steel padlocks suit general-purpose locking where a disc body will not fit the hasp.
- Shrouded or hidden-shackle models suit applications where the shackle itself is the exposed weakness.
- Any performance claim (anti-drill, anti-pick, weatherproof, heavy duty) is confirmed per model against a sample or test record — we do not apply one model's result to the family.
Fit starts at the fixing. Send a photo of the door, gate or locker with something for scale and we will confirm body size and shackle clearance with a physical sample.
Ordering information
Terms for padlocks. Where an order mixes body sizes and shackle types, every line is quoted separately so the comparison stays honest.
- MOQ
- From 500 pcs
Where an order mixes several body sizes, the minimum applies per model rather than to the order as a whole. - Samples
- From 5 days
Sent so you can check the shackle through the fixing and the body clearance before committing. - Batch production
- Around 30 days after spec and artwork confirmation
Mixed-size orders take longer than single-model ones, and both are mapped around the peak season. - Delivery terms
- EXW · FOB · CIF · CFR · DDP
Where an order mixes sizes, the carton count changes the freight, so the term is quoted against the actual packing list. - Payment
- T/T · L/C · Credit card
A mixed-size padlock order is invoiced as one order, so the deposit covers the whole list rather than each line. - Documentation
- Spec sheet, inspection record, packing list, pre-shipment photos
Where an order mixes models, records are issued per model, so send the model list with the order.
Send the fixing or a door photo, the unit count and the destination, and the quotation will be built from the door rather than the catalogue.
Options and customization
Padlock options that do not change the body — shackle length inside the tooling, finish, marking and packaging.

Buyer questions
Disc, laminated or shrouded — which do I need?
It depends on the door and the risk. Disc padlocks protect the shackle inside a hardened body, which is harder to cut than an exposed shackle on unit doors with a hasp. Laminated steel suits general locking where a disc body will not fit. Shrouded models suit applications where the exposed shackle is the weakness. Send a door photo and we will tell you which applies.
Are your padlocks anti-drill or weatherproof?
Those are per-model properties, not family-wide claims. Tell us your environment and the model you are considering, and we will confirm what applies to that model against a sample or a test record — we do not transfer one product's result to another.
Can I order padlocks and cylinders on one key plan?
Yes, and it is usually the right decision. Keying both families together is what stops a site ending up with padlocks on one key and cylinders on another.
Do you supply from stock?
Some high-runner padlock models are held from regular production, but the position moves week to week. Tell us the model and the quantity and we will confirm what is genuinely available now rather than what was available last quarter.
Which shackle length should we order?
It follows the hasp. A shackle that is too long leaves the lock hanging where it can be levered, and one that is too short will not close at all. Send a photo of the hasp with the door closed and we will confirm the length.
How are padlocks packed for a facility order?
Bulk or individually boxed, depending on how they are issued to tenants. If they go into a move-in pack, say so and the packing list will carry the box count as well as the unit count.
