Delivery, shipping and customs

Most first orders stall on shipping, not on the product. Here is how goods leave the factory, what each trade term includes, and what you receive before and after they ship.

How an order moves

Three stages, each with a document set.

  1. Spec and sample

Send a door photo or cylinder size. We send a sample to confirm fit before you commit to a quantity. Sample lead time from 5 days.

  2. Production and QC

Batch production around 30 days after spec and artwork confirmation. Pre-shipment photos and video are sent for your approval before the goods leave.

  3. Packing, documents and shipment

Export packing, packing list verified against carton count, commercial invoice, HS code, certificates where applicable — then shipment on your terms.

Trade terms compared

Who arranges what, so you can compare a quotation properly instead of comparing a unit price.

Packing and documentation

Export packing
Cartons configured to survive a sea container; palletised or crate-packed depending on the product.
Labelling
Carton marks to your reference, including SKU, quantity and your own label artwork where supplied.
Packing list
Verified against carton count before loading, so the paperwork matches what arrives.
Commercial invoice
Issued with the HS code and the agreed trade terms.
Certificates
ISO, CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, CPR, ISO 9227 or CE-RED documentation issued with the shipment where applicable.
Pre-shipment record
Photo and video of the finished, packed batch for your approval before release.
Lithium battery shipments
Rechargeable products travel with a UN38.3 test summary, an MSDS and a sea-freight transport report — the documents a carrier asks for before it will accept lithium cells.

No forwarder?

Tell us your destination city and postcode. We will quote DDP where available, or help arrange shipping and send you the customs documents, including the HS code.

Goods ship from China. DDP changes who handles the paperwork, not where the goods are made — we do not hold stock in the United States, and we will not imply that we do.

Ask for a DDP quote

Products with a rechargeable battery need one extra step. Lithium cells are regulated in transport, so the shipment travels with the UN38.3 test summary, the MSDS and the transport report for the cell. Tell us the destination and the mode you intend to use and we will confirm what the carrier requires before the goods are packed.

Planning a phased or multi-site delivery

For facility groups and distributors running a rollout rather than a single purchase.

Site-by-site schedule

Tell us the site order and the dates. Production and shipment windows are planned against your schedule rather than shipping everything at once.

Per-site allocation

Cartons and pallets are allocated and marked per site, so receiving teams do not have to re-sort a mixed container.

Re-order continuity

Your specification, keying and packaging artwork are stored, so a later top-up order matches what is already installed.

Shipping questions

Which delivery terms do you quote?

EXW, FOB, CIF, CFR and DDP. We quote more than one where it helps you compare, so you can see what the goods cost and what the freight and duties cost, separately.

What does DDP actually cover?

On DDP we handle freight, customs clearance and import duties where available for the destination, so the price you receive is the price you pay. Availability depends on the destination country and the carrier — we confirm it with your quotation.

Can you work with our own forwarder?

Yes. Send us the forwarder's details and the collection instructions, and we will prepare the export documentation and book the collection window around the production schedule.

How are the goods packed for a sea container?

Cartons are configured for export and palletised or crate-packed depending on the product. Packaging is designed to survive a sea container without crushing, and the packing list is verified against the carton count before loading.

How do we handle a phased multi-site delivery?

Tell us the site schedule at the start. We plan production and shipment windows against it, so each site receives its allocation when it needs it rather than all at once.
