Before you send an enquiry

Common concerns before you order storage locks

Seven things buyers ask before placing a first order — including the ones that are awkward to ask. Each answer states its conditions rather than a promise.

Concern 1 of 7

Your price is higher than another supplier

Sometimes it is — and sometimes it should be. Before comparing two quotations, put both on the same four dimensions.

Material
SS201 or SS304? The two grades are not interchangeable on an exposed or coastal door.
Inspection record
Is there a documented record for the batch, or only a certificate on a wall?
Trade term
EXW or DDP? Under EXW you carry freight, clearance and duties yourself.
Packaging
White box or printed card? Packaging is part of the unit cost, not a free extra.

A lower unit price on a different configuration is not a lower price. Send us the other quotation and we will show you where the difference actually sits.

Concern 2 of 7

Will it fit my doors?

This is the question that stops most first orders — and it should, because a one-millimetre difference in a mounting hole means a door that will not close.

We do not ask you to trust a drawing. Here is the sequence:

  1. Send a door photo, the cylinder size, or the mounting dimensions

Not sure? A photo with a ruler across the cylinder face is usually enough.

  2. We send a physical sample

From 5 days, with the sample fee refundable against a bulk order.

  3. You check it against your actual door

On site, not on a screen.

  4. Only then do we start production

Fit confirmed by sample, not by drawing.

Concern 3 of 7

I am not sure your batches will match

This is the right thing to worry about. A second order that does not match the first is worse than a late delivery, because by then the keys are already in tenants' hands.

Specification on file
Model, cylinder size, finish and keying are recorded against your account.
First Article Inspection
Dimensions, finish and fit confirmed before the full run starts.
100% manual check
Every unit is checked by hand for surface and function before packing.
Batch traceability
Records let us trace a batch back to its source material.
Re-order against record
Your next order is produced to the stored specification, not to a new one.

This is also what keeps a replacement cylinder ordered in three years matching the keys your tenants are already holding.

Concern 4 of 7

I have not heard of you

Fair. We are not a household brand, and we are not going to pretend to be one. Here is what you can check instead of a logo.

SGS-verified supplier
Assessed on site, most recently in October 2025. Report references available on request.
ISO 9001:2015
A certified quality management system, not a claim about a product.
Registered since 2016
Wenzhou Mingsheng Security Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang, China.
Cross-checkable
Our sister sites for padlocks and door hardware share the same company, phone and address — you can verify us against them.

We would rather be judged on documents than on recognition. Tell us which standard your project requires and we will tell you what exists and what does not.

Concern 5 of 7

Your lead time is too long

Thirty days is not instant. Here is what the time is actually spent on, and where it can be shortened.

Samples
From 5 days. Fit and finish confirmed on your door before you commit to a quantity.
Batch production
Around 30 days after the specification and artwork are confirmed.
Measured record
99.3% on-time delivery across our lock and key-box lines.
Phased delivery
For multi-site projects we schedule shipments per site, so the first site opens while the rest is in production.

If your deadline is tight, tell us at the first message rather than at the end. We will tell you honestly what is possible.

Concern 6 of 7

500 pcs is more than I need

It is a real threshold, and we would rather explain it than pretend it does not exist. Production setup is per run, which is why the price curve flattens above a certain quantity.

Three ways to start smaller:

  1. Sample first

From 5 days. The sample fee is refundable against a bulk order.

  2. Phase by model

Take the full quantity on your highest-runner model first, and add the others on the next order.

  3. Combine families

Padlocks, cylinders and latches on one order often clear the threshold where one family alone would not.

If your requirement is genuinely below the threshold, we will tell you — rather than take the order and struggle with it.

Concern 7 of 7

Switching supplier is a hassle

It is — so do not switch. Start with one or two models and keep your current supplier running.

  1. Pick one or two models you reorder most often

The ones where a quality problem costs you most.

  2. We send samples to compare

Against what you are using now, checked on your own doors.

  3. You place a trial order at the standard MOQ

No site-wide changeover and no new key plan.

  4. If it works, extend the range

If it does not, you have lost nothing but a sample.

A second qualified supplier is risk management, not a commitment. Most of our long-term customers started with a single model.

Short answers

The same seven concerns, in one paragraph each.

Why is your price higher than another supplier?

Rarely like for like. Four things usually explain the gap: the stainless grade (SS201 or SS304), whether an inspection record exists for the batch, the trade term (EXW or DDP), and the packaging. We will compare your other quotation against ours dimension by dimension so you can see which differences are real.

Will your locks fit my doors?

Send a door photo, the cylinder size or the mounting dimensions — a photo with a ruler across the cylinder face is usually enough. We then send a physical sample from 5 days, you check it against your actual door, and production starts only after that. Fit is confirmed by sample, not by drawing.

How do you make sure batches match?

Your specification — model, cylinder size, finish and keying — is recorded against your account. Every batch runs a First Article Inspection before the full production run, every unit is checked by hand for surface and function before packing, and batch records let us trace back to the source material. A re-order is produced to the stored specification, not to a new one.

What can I check if I have not heard of your company?

Check documents rather than recognition. We are an SGS-verified supplier, audited on site most recently in October 2025, certified to ISO 9001:2015, and registered in Wenzhou, Zhejiang since 2016. Our sister sites for padlocks and door hardware share the same company name, phone and address, so you can cross-check us. We will also tell you plainly which certificates we hold and which we do not.

What are your lead times?

Samples ship from 5 days and batch production averages around 30 days after the specification and artwork are confirmed. Our measured on-time delivery rate is 99.3% across the lock and key-box lines. For multi-site projects we schedule deliveries per site rather than shipping everything at once. If your deadline is tight, tell us at the first message and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Your MOQ is 500 pcs — can I order less?

Standard MOQ starts from 500 pcs for the mechanical self-storage lock families. The Bluetooth smart padlock starts from 50 pcs. To start smaller, order a sample first (from 5 days, fee refundable against a bulk order), phase by model — full quantity on your highest-runner model first — or combine families so padlocks, cylinders and latches clear the threshold together. If your requirement is genuinely below it, we will tell you rather than take the order and struggle.

Can I try you without switching my current supplier?

You do not need to switch. Pick one or two models you reorder most often, and we send samples to compare against what you are using now. You place a trial order at the standard MOQ with no site-wide changeover and no new key plan. If it works, extend the range; if it does not, you have lost nothing but a sample. A second qualified supplier is risk management, not a commitment.
