Overlock and lockout hardware for storage units
Hardware for the part of the job nobody puts in a brochure — vacant units, delinquent accounts and units that must not be opened without a manager present. This is the family most suppliers do not carry at all.
Choose your configuration
Overlock and lockout orders depend on which units you are securing, the hasp already on the door, and who holds the manager key.

Hasp patterns are matched to the door already installed, so they are confirmed per project. Where a door needs an adaptor, we say so before quoting.
Fit and compatibility
- Overlock hardware has to work with the tenant lock already on the unit — send us the lock model or a photo.
- The plate must clear the door track through the full swing. This is verified against a sample door, because it is the most common reason an overlock does not work in practice.
- If a manager key operates the overlock, it is planned on the same keying schedule as the unit cylinders so one key covers the routine.
- For roll-up doors, overlock hardware is normally specified together with the latch and hasp.
Fit is against the door already there. Send a photo of the hasp or the door edge and we confirm the overlock or lockout pattern that suits it, with a sample before production.
Ordering information
Terms for overlock and lockout hardware. The hasp pattern is recorded with the order so replacement units match the doors already fitted.
- MOQ
- From 500 pcs
Where several hasp patterns are needed on one site, each is quoted on the same order rather than bought separately. - Samples
- From 5 days
Sent so you can fit the overlock or lockout to the door and confirm the manager key operates it cleanly. - Batch production
- Around 30 days after spec and artwork confirmation
Where a project spans several hasp patterns, the schedule is built per pattern around the holiday period. - Delivery terms
- EXW · FOB · CIF · CFR · DDP
Overlock hardware packs flat, which usually makes consolidated sea freight cheaper than air above sample quantity. - Payment
- T/T · L/C · Credit card
Overlock and lockout orders follow the standard terms: deposit with the order, balance against the documents. - Documentation
- Spec sheet, inspection record, packing list, pre-shipment photos
Overlock records cover the hasp pattern and the coating, each issued against the model ordered.
Send a photo of the door and the number of units to be secured, and the quotation will be built around the hasp already installed.

Buyer questions
What is the difference between an overlock and a lockout?
Both block access, and both are used for vacant or delinquent units. An overlock is normally a plate or bracket that covers the existing hasp or lock so it cannot be opened. A lockout is the broader practice — the hardware depends on the door and the lock already fitted. Tell us the door and lock type and we will confirm which applies.
Will it work with the locks we already use?
Send the lock model or a photo of a typical unit door. The overlock has to clear the lock body and the door track through the full swing, so we verify it against a sample rather than assuming.
Can the manager key open the overlock too?
Yes. Manager keying is planned together with the unit cylinders, so one key covers the overlock routine across the site. Planning them separately is how a facility ends up with a manager key that opens the units but not the overlocks.
Is overlock hardware available on its own?
Yes, and it is often ordered with the latch and hasp family or as a top-up to an existing installation. Tell us the door type and the lock already in use.
What do we need to measure before choosing an overlock?
The hasp depth and the gap the overlock has to close over, with a photo of the door closed. Those two dimensions decide the fit, and getting them wrong is the usual reason an overlock that looked right in a catalogue fails on site.
Can you supply overlock hardware for a site you did not fit out?
Yes. Send the door type and the locks already in use and we will confirm which overlock closes over them. Matching another supplier's hardware is routine on a site being taken over.
